Course Description
This engaging video-based course from Altura Learning provides aged care staff with the knowledge and confidence to deliver high-quality, person-centred palliative and end-of-life care. Through real-world scenarios and expert insights, learners will see best practice in action, making complex clinical concepts easier to understand and apply.
The course explores the core principles of compassionate care, emphasising the goals of supporting dignity, comfort, and quality of life. Learners will gain practical guidance on recognising when palliative interventions are appropriate, applying effective communication strategies, and working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide seamless, coordinated support to individuals and their families.
In addition, the program addresses care in the final days of life, strategies for supporting bereaved families, and the critical importance of self-care for staff during emotionally demanding situations. By learning through video, staff can connect emotionally with real experiences while developing the clinical skills to deliver care with confidence and empathy.
