Course Description
Quality of life (QoL) assessments are tools used to evaluate the physical, emotional, social, and environmental well-being of older people in aged care. These assessments provide insight into residents’ satisfaction, preferences, and unmet needs, helping care teams deliver person-centred care that supports autonomy, dignity, and overall wellbeing.
For aged care staff, understanding QoL assessments is essential. It enables them to identify areas where residents may need additional support, monitor changes over time, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to improve care outcomes. Knowledge of QoL assessments ensures care is responsive, holistic, and aligned with each resident’s individual goals and preferences.
