Culturally Safe Support Practices in Aotearoa New Zealand

This 15 min course is designed to reflect changes incorporated in the updated Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standard 2021.

This standard provides the foundation for describing best practice and fostering continuous improvement in the quality of health and disability services. It sets out the rights of people receiving healthcare services and ensures providers know their responsibilities for providing safe outcomes. As part of the recent update, the Standard has a stronger focus on increasing positive life outcomes and achieving pae ora – healthy futures for Māori. This course content was reviewed by one of the Health and Disability Services Standard Committee members.

This new Altura Learning Course is available for FREE to all care providers across New Zealand.
